Detective Constable Colin Jones said: "The victim is clearly upset following the incident.

"The offender walked up to the woman from behind, grabbed the bag and pulled it with such force that this has caused pain and discomfort to her shoulder and arm.

"The offender then ran off.

"The bag contained various items including cash, a bank card and an iPhone.

"Also in the bag was a brown purse which holds great sentimental value to the victim as it belonged to her late father.

"Officers were there on the scene quickly, but the offender had left the scene by then.

"Unfortunately the victim wasn't able to get a good look of the offender’s face, but he was wearing a light grey hoody and dark bottoms.

"We conducted an area search in the immediate area, but we couldn't find the man.

"We also tried to get the force drone into the sky, but due to the torrential rain it wasn't viable.

"If you have any information please call 101, quoting incident number 966 of 25 July 2020."
