Police appeal after man dies in Nottinghamshire M1 crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 64-year-old man died following a lorry crash on the M1.

The 64-year-old man died after a single vehicle collision involving a dropside lorry and the central reservation of the M1 yesterday (June 2).

Nottinghamshire Police were called to the M1 southbound at around 11:40am to reports that a man had suffered serious injuries.

Emergency workers attempted to treat the man at the scene but he sadly died.

Both lanes of the M1 were closed until yesterday evening following the accident.

Police Sergeant Mark Baker, of Nottinghamshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are now appealing for any witnesses or any dashcam footage of the incident to establish the circumstances around this collision.

“Anyone who with any information or footage should contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 258 of 2 June 2020.”
