Notts porn addict downloaded indecent images of children

A “repugnant” Notts porn addict who downloaded indecent images of children "out of curiosity" has been ordered to seek treatment.

James Pawlikow's computer was seized on February 20, 2019, and an inspection revealed he had downloaded 86 indecent images between May 2012, and February 2019.

Police found nine Category A images, two Category B images, and 75 Category C images, where Category A are the most extreme, prosecutor Stuart Pattinson told Nottingham Crown Court, on Thursday.

"He accepts searching for images of children out of curiosity and then deleting them," he said.

Experts examined the computer and found fragments of files named "pre-teen boys and girls," "incest" and "bondage."

Ben Brown, mitigating, said Pawlikow been receiving treatment and support for his addiction to pornography for a number of months.

"He has been addicted to pornography for the majority of his adult life and this led to what he describes as "repugnant behaviour,"" Mr Brown said.

"He hasn't viewed pornogrphy - legal or otherwise - for more than a year. There's no suggestion that he is a danger to children.

"He deleted the images as soon as they were downloaded."

Pawlikow, 34, of Leslie Avenue, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images.

Judge Julie Warburton imposed a 20 month community order, with 90 days of treatment on a sex offenders' programme to "reduce the risk of his reoffending."

He was also ordered to carry out 30 rehabilitation days and pay £670 in prosecution costs.
