Notts man jailed for pub burglary bid

A Bulwell man who tried to burgle a city centre pub has been jailed, a court heard.

Bobby Lunt tried to break into the Pitcher and Piano pub on January 26, and then failed to turn up to court on March 19.

Lunt, 36, of Ravensworth Road, was found guilty of the burglary after a trial at Nottingham Magistrates Court, on March 19.

He admitted taking a silver Nissan Interstar without the owner's consent and driving it without insurance or a licence, between March 2 and 27.

The offences put him in breach of a suspended nine week prison sentence, imposed in January for shop thefts and an assault on a woman from December 2019.

He was jailed for a total of 35 weeks.

He was banned from driving for 18 months and until he passes a re-test.

He must also pay court costs of £200 and a £149 victim surcharge.
