Notts man jailed for assaulting former partner
A Rainworth man has been jailed for beating a woman after repeated court orders were put in place against him to protect her.
Gary Stephen Kitchener had previously denied the assault on the woman, believed to be his former partner, on April 20 this year, but changed his plea to guilty when he appeared before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on June 29.
Court records state that Kitchener, 39, of Rugby Road, Rainworth, was jailed for a total of 24 weeks because he had a long history of assaulting the woman and “there were numerous breaches of court orders which were imposed to protect her.”
The records added that Kitchener had given his victim a “testing time” .

Magistrates also imposed a two-year restraining order preventing him from contacting his victim in any way, or going to the street where she lives.
He was also ordered to pay £300 in prosecution costs and a £128 victim surcharge.
