Notts man jailed for assault and vandalism spree

A Notts man "with a flagrant disregard for people and their property" who went on an assault and vandalism spree has been locked up for 26 weeks.

Jake Sykes, 27, of Mansfield Road, Nottingham, admitted a string of offences when he appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court, on April 28.

He assaulted two men at HMP Ranby on August 16, 2019, and in Edwalton, assaulted a man, on February 20, and a woman on March 8.

Sykes breached a bail condition on March 21, and then damaged a Ford Fiesta's wing mirror, and a police van on Derby Road, on March 24.

He also used threatening words and assaulted a police officer.

Sykes damaged the bodywork of a BMW, a Fiat Punto, a Citroen 2 , a Vauxhall Zafira, a caravan and a Citroen panel van, on Princess Drive, in Grantham, and used threatening words and behaviour, on April 20.
