Notts man in custody on terrorism charges
A Nottinghamshire man has been charged with two offences under the Terrorism Act.
Police have issued a release saying they have a man in custody following an arrest on Monday following a joint investigation by Nottinghamshire Police and the North East Counter Terrorism Unit.
Ryan Counsell, 28, of Russell Road, Hyson Green in north Nottingham was initially arrested on Monday and has been charged
He is charged with two offences contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000. He appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court on Thursday (14 July) and was remanded in custody.
This activity was intelligence led and there is no evidence to suggest any community was at immediate risk in connection with this investigation.
