Murrae Kirk's home was raided on October 2, last year, and officers found 76 Category A images, 117 Category B images, and 1,138 Category C images, where Category A is the most extreme, on his computer.
Prosecutor Hal Ewing said Kirk told police: "I may have seen some of that stuff" and said he looked for it out of curiosity.

Hide Ad"He said: "I was bored and wanted to see what comes up. It's something different. I still have a libido."" Nottingham Crown Court heard on Wednesday.
"He seemed to take the view that ages 12 to 14 was acceptable," Mr Ewing added.
Stefan Fox, mitigating, said Kirk entered a prompt guilty plea and had no relevant previous convictions.
Kirk, of Acton Avenue, Basford, pleaded guilty to three counts of making and possessing indecent images of children and possessing one extreme pornographic image, when he appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court, on July 24.

Hide AdJudge John Burgess said: "I don't share the probation officer's view that he is naive.
"I don't think he can properly hide behind his age."
He told Kirk: "Those who watch this sort of material participate, albeit indirectly, in child abuse.”
The judge sentenced him to four months in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered that he be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for seven years.
Kirk must also pay £425 costs.
