Nottinghamshire drink-driver caught with wine bottles in her car loses job
A woman who was stopped with more than twice the legal level of alcohol in Mansfield has lost her job, a court heard.
Natalie Turner's Ford Ka was stopped on Leeming Street at 5.40pm on March 24 and ‘it was clear to the police she was under the influence of alcohol’, said prosecutor Neil Hollett.
They found three empty wine bottles in the car and a test revealed she had 90 mcgs of alcohol – the legal limit is 35 mcgs.
Representing herself, she said she had a lot to drink the night before but admitted she has a problem with alcohol and is now receiving help from an occupational therapist and has joined Alcoholics Anonymous.
Turner, 37, of Priorswell Road, Worksop, admitted drink driving when she appeared before Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
She was banned for 23 months, but will receive a 174-day reduction if she completes a drink-driver’s course by July 2022.
