New dedicated police neighbourhood team to tackle concerns in Mansfield
A new neighbourhood police team has been set up to tackle and prevent crime in Mansfield.
The team is already tackling the public’s concerns head-on – arresting suspects, using intelligence to target offenders, and getting out and about in their community to help prevent crime.

The team of one sergeant, eight PCs, and four PCSOs have made several arrests and seizures across their area, which covers Forest Town, Clipstone, Warsop, and Mansfield Woodhouse.
Officers work collaboratively with neighbourhood teams and partner agencies to help identify and monitor patterns in criminality, such as antisocial behaviour, and can recommend effective solutions to target hotspot areas.
Sergeant Carl Hunt, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Mansfield North Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Progress is being made on our policing priorities – antisocial use of vehicles, shoplifting, and drug dealing.
“Our neighbourhoods and communities play a vital role in helping us to prevent crime from occurring in the first place, and I’d urge anyone with a concern to please report it to us so that we can take action to tackle this.
“If we do not know about something, we cannot act. Reporting crime helps us to allocate resources and identify hotspot areas.
“We are holding regular beat surgeries, where members of the public can speak directly with my officers about their concerns.
“These are being advertised on our social media channels, so please keep an eye out for this and pay us a visit."
While patrolling in Forest Town, officers stopped a silver Peugeot that was linked to the supply of drugs at around 9am on 6 December last year.
During a search of the car, officers found four large bags of suspected counterfeit cigarettes.
A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of counterfeit goods. She has been released on conditional bail while inquiries continue.
Elsewhere, a tip-off from a member of the public led to the discovery of a cannabis farm in Warsop.
It was reported to police that there was a strong smell of cannabis coming from a property in Wood Street.
Officers began patrolling the area to make enquiries and, while following their noses, a cannabis farm was found inside a garage on 27 November 2025.
It was later discovered that an electricity meter had been tampered with and bypassed to facilitate the makeshift farm.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.
In a separate incident, officers saw an off-road pit bike being ridden in Chestnut Grove, Mansfield Woodhouse, without a number plate at around 4pm on 20 November 2025, which subsequently failed to stop.
Utilising local intelligence, officers were able to track down the distinctive bike, which was seized from a linked address in Sandringham Drive.
