POLICE are carrying out house-to-house enquiries on Wednesday as part of a murder investigation into the deathof a man at a house in Mansfield on Tuesday morning.
Detectives are also set to question eight people who have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Paramedics were called to an address in Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield, at just after 10am on Tuesday, where they discovered a man who was later pronounced dead.
The victim, still to be formally identified, is believed to be in his late 40s. A Home Office post-mortem examination will be conducted on Wednesday to establish the cause of death.
Eight people, seven men and a woman, aged between 43 and 24, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
On Wednesday morning T/Supt Paul Winter, of Mansfield police station, said: “We don’t believe this was a random attack, and would urge anyone with information to contact us. We want to hear from anyone who was in the Chesterfield Road South area during Monday night into Tuesday, who may have seen or heard anything out of the ordinary.
“Detectives are continuing to interview a number of people arrested in connection with this man’s murder, and family liaison officers are working to trace and support relatives of the victim.”
Police say that their enquiries are ongoing and a cordon remains around the property in Chesterfield Road South, while forensic examinations continue. Police are also looking at CCTV.
