It was then swiftly returned to its owner.

An investigation into the theft remains ongoing.

Inspector John Meanwell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a great bit of work by the officers who managed to recover the bike within 22 minutes of us first receiving the report.

“In this case, the victim had a tracker fitted, and that simple tool made a huge difference in aiding the recovery of the motorbike.

“When owners take preventive steps like this, it gives us vital assistance in those first few moments a report comes in.

“Whilst we continue to investigate vehicle thefts, I would encourage owners to take what steps they can to reduce their risk in falling victim.

“We are still working to identify a suspect in this case and our investigation into what happened is ongoing.”
