Men arrested after ‘several people’ involved in Mansfield street fight in broad daylight

Officers were called to Victoria Street shortly after 4pm on Wednesday after ‘several people’ were reported to be fighting, according to a Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson.
Two men, aged 37 and 39, were arrested on suspicion of affray and taken to hospital for treatment.

Hide AdThey were both released shortly afterwards and taken into police custody.
Investigations are continuing into the incident.
Inspector Nick Butler, district commander for Mansfield, said: “This kind of public disorder is completely unacceptable and will always generate a very swift police response.
“We are working to understand exactly what happened during this incident and would greatly appreciate hearing from any witnesses who have not already spoken to us.”
