Mansfield town centre road closed after alleged attack

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following the incident.

Officers were called to Clumber Street just after 3.30am on Sunday to a report that a man had punched another man.

The man who is believed to have been punched was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Detective Sergeant Matt Scott, said: "This incident happened after a busy Saturday night in Mansfield, so we believe that there will be people who have information which could help our investigation.

"Any detail, no matter how small it may seem, may be important to our enquiries.

Due to the closure, buses are unable to serve Leeming Street on outbound journeys.
