Mansfield mum threatened to kill mother-in-law during violent domestic attack
A Mansfield mum who threatened to kill her mother-in-law during a violent domestic attack felt she was being belittled, a court heard.
Rose Chirackal-Joseph was living with her husband's parents in Kersall Gardens, Hucknall, when the incident happened on December 30, last year, said Alison McIlroy, prosecuting.
Her mother-in-law was changing her baby's nappy when she said she would do it and shoved her aside before pushing her husband and punching him “really hard” in the face
She grabbed her mother-in-law’s hair, pulled her to the ground and punched her in the face, shouting that she would kill her.

When her husband called 999 she tried to snatch the phone and scratched his arm.
And she grabbed her mother-in-law’s hair again and scratched her face.
While Chirackal-Joseph’s husband restrained her on the floor she kicked the living room door off its hinges.
Her solicitor said she was under emotional strain at the time and felt she was being belittled and made to appear as a bad mother.
He said the engineering graduate, who has no previous convictions, was suffering from post-natal depression and the couple were both in an arranged marriage.
“She is immensely remorseful and has learned her lesson,” he solicitor added. “Her intention was to protect her child.”
Chirackal-Joseph, aged 25, of Eakring Road, Mansfield, admitted two counts of assault by beating and criminal damage when she appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court, on Wednesday.
She received a 12-month community order with 16 rehabilitation days and fined her £100, with £85 costs and a £114 surcharge. A two-year restraining order was imposed.
