Mansfield man’s ‘shocking, shameful and destructive behaviour’ towards three ex-partners
A Mansfield man who harassed, threatened and assaulted three ex-partners exhibited "shocking, shameful and destructive behaviour", a court has heard.
Jamie Ashforth threatened to post explicit images of his first victim on social media after she ended their relationship in May 2024 during a three-week campaign of unwanted calls and texts, said Sarah Angus, prosecuting.
He also sent pictures of himself in her neighbourhood and threatened to come around to her home within days of a domestic protection order being made.
Ashforth also threatened to damage a second victim’s windows and tried to kick in her front door on April 16, 2024.

He snatched a third woman’s iPhone 13 Pro Max and stamped on it before shoving her into a chair and slapping her face.
Police were called to The Stag and Pheasant, in Mansfield, last December, when Ashforth became aggressive and refused to leave.
After his arrest he lunged at officers in a holding cell and kicked one of them in the shin.
Chris Perry, mitigating, said Ashforth, who had no previous convictions, had “amassed an unenviable set of offences within 13 months.”
“It is obviously the case that this passes the custody threshold,” he said. “It is shocking, shameful and destructive behaviour towards partners and himself.”
Mr Perry said Ashforth had been remanded in prison and has spent 10 months on a qualifying curfew.
He said the probation service recommended making Ashforth confront what led him to commit offences and come to terms with his alcohol problem.
“He has plenty of issues,” Mr Perry said. “If there are not going to be more victims he needs to deal with this. This offers him a way to sort his life out.”
Ashforth, 24, of Brick Kiln Lane, Mansfield, admitted harassment without violence, assault, criminal damage, making threats, assaulting an emergency worker, and drunk and disorderly behaviour at previous hearings.
On Tuesday, he received a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, with six months of alcohol treatment and a 30-day programme. He was ordered to pay £885 costs and a £154 surcharge.
He was banned from contacting all three women for two years through restraining orders.
