Mansfield man robbed at knifepoint in his own home in 'terrifying' incident

Detectives are appealing for help after a man reported being robbed at knifepoint in Mansfield yesterday.

Police were called to Norwell Court, Mansfield, at about 3.45pm on Friday, August 21, after two men believed to be posing as charity workers entered a house in the street and threatened a man inside the property.

It is thought two men demanded the victim hand over cash at knifepoint before leaving the house.

Detectives investigating the incident are appealing to anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area at the time to get in touch with Nottinghamshire Police as soon as possible.

Detective Sergeant David Prest said: “The victim was not injured in the incident but it was undoubtedly a terrifying experience for him.

“We are now working to establish the circumstances and ask that the public remain vigilant in light of the report.

“The men are thought to have been wearing lanyards and are both are described as white with dark hair.

"One of the men is reported to be around 6ft tall with dark brown hair and stubble.

"He is thought to have been wearing a dark hoodie, a blue medical mask, grey and white jogging bottoms and is thought to have had a local accent.

"The other man is described as approximately 5ft 9inches tall and of average build, he is also believed to have been approximately 20 years old and was reported to be wearing similar clothes to the other man.
