Mansfield man needs skin graft after bite to the face

A Mansfield man has been left needing a skin graft after he was bitten on the face earlier this week.

Officers were called to a house in Preston Road in Rainworth, at around 5pm on Tuesday, November 17.

It was reported that a group of men had been drinking in the house when one of them become violent and bit another man on the cheek.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Anthony Sams, who is investigating the incident, said: “This incident has left a man with a really nasty injury which needs surgery.

“Everyone deserves to live without the threat of violence and we take all reports such as this one extremely seriously.”

A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and has since been released on bail.

Anyone who has information about the incident should call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 530 of 17 November 2020.
