Mansfield hit and run victim formally identified as Sarah Redfern

The woman who died following a collision in Mansfield at the weekend has been formally named as Sarah Lynn Redfern.

Sarah was injured in the incident at about 4.30am on Saturday 2nd August 2014 and died in hospital two days later.

A yellow Citroen D3 was in collision with the 31-year-old and a 28-year-old man in Haddon Road, near it’s junction with the A60.

The man was treated for minor injuries.

A 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, arrested in connection with the incident, remain on bail pending further enquiries.

Sarah’s dad, Gary, said: “There has been a lot of rumour and speculation flying around about what happened on Saturday. I would ask that people stay calm and respectful, and show patience while officers investigate what took place that night.”

Tributes flooded in following the death of popular Sarah on social media.

Carmen Louise posted: “Rip Sarah waste of a young life.”

Kate Whitby added: “So very sorry to read this RIP Sarah xxx”
