Mansfield child murder trial: Court told about “dark thoughts” remark as mum Katie Crowder stands accused of murdering her daughter

We are here at Nottingham Crown Court on the eighth day of the trial of 26-year-old Katie Crowder, who is accused of scalding her 19-month-old daughter to death.

Crowder, of Wharmby Avenue, Mansfield, denies the offence, which prosecutors say took place in the early hours of March 6 this year.

The prosecution case is expected to conclude today, with defence evidence beginning tomorrow.
