A man who stole his friend’s wallet off the bar of a Mansfield pub which contained just £14 has been told to pay out £200.
Joseph Luke Twyning, 24, of Wharfedale Gardens, Mansfield, had been drinking in the Green Dragon pub on Leeming Street when his friend went to the toilet.
On his return he found Twyning was gone, along with his wallet. He tried phoning Twyning but he would not talk to him.
Admitting a charge of theft, magistrates were told how Twyning suffers from cerebral palsy and learning difficulties.
He was handed a 12-month conditional discharge, made to pay £20 compensation to the victim and £180 costs.
