Man injured in crash after 'road rage' incident in Mansfield

A man who was injured in a crash in Mansfield is believed to have left his car moments earlier to confront another driver in a ‘road rage’ incident.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision on Warsop Road in Mansfield Woodhouse, in which the man sustained head injuries.

Detectives understand that a reported road rage incident in Leeming Lane North happened moments before the crash on October 16, at around 6.30pm, and a man had left his car to confront a driver when the was hit.

A man was arrested and released under investigation in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Timothy McDonnell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thankfully, the man who was run over only suffered minor injuries in the incident. However, it could have been far more serious.

“Nottinghamshire Police takes road related incidents very seriously and will investigate all reports thoroughly.”

Anyone with information, especially those with dashcam footage, is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 652 of October 16.
