Man injured after woman attacked him with a knife in Mansfield

The victim told police he had got into an argument with a woman and that she pulled out the blade after they both got into a car.
He sustained a minor cut to his hand as a struggle took place.

Hide AdThe man seized control of the knife before the woman drove off.
The incident happened in Stanley Road, Mansfield, shortly before 11am on Wednesday, July 14.
Police were quickly on the scene and their enquiries led to the arrest of a 67-year-old woman on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed weapon. She has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Inspector Georgina Ball, of Nottinghamshire Police, said the people involved were known to each other and that there was no wider threat to the public.

Hide AdShe added: "Knife crime has no place on our streets and we will always thoroughly investigate reports with a view to taking action against those responsible.
“Whenever a knife is involved, there is always a chance for serious consequences – thankfully in this case, the victim suffered very minor injuries but we are taking this report seriously.
“This attack happened in broad daylight and we are keen for anyone who may have witnessed what happened to come forward with any information.”
