Officers were called to Brierley Road at around 7.15pm yesterday (Tuesday 30 June 2020). A man had been hit in the face with a metal pole and suffered a broken jaw.

Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson said: “Clearly this level of violence is unacceptable and we need to get to the bottom of how and why a man became to be so seriously injured. We do think the group were known to each other and so there's no need for people in the area to be feel worried for their safety. However, we are asking people to get in touch with us on 101 so we can piece together what happened."
