A recovering drug addict was caught going equipped to steal just weeks after he was released from prison.

Dean Michael Graves (40) of Chesterfield Road North, Pleasley, was found to have screwdrivers, a head torch, tape and binoculars in a bag as police stopped him in Mansfield in the early hours of 27th January. He told police he was on his way home but was acting nervously.

He said because he had just been released from prison and was moving items in his bag to his mother’s house, where is now staying. However, he admitted the charge of going equipped.

Already electronically tagged as part of his early prison release, his curfew was extended for a further 28 days, and he was told to pay £60 costs and a £40 surcharge.
