Man charged with theft from Bolsover pub

A MAN accused of stealing more than £6,000 in takings and stock from a Bolsover pub has been committed for trial.

David Cox was charged with theft from Peter Bland between 25th November and 27th April, while working as bar manager at the Cavendish Hotel, in Market Place.

Cox, who appeared before magistrates at Chesterfield on Monday, was also charged with three offences involving theft of cash.

He was accused of stealing £2,000 from Geoffrey Wigmore, £750 from Colin Field and £150 from Lauretta Field.

Those offences were alleged to have taken place at Bolsover.

Cox (31), now living in Bridlington, has entered no formal pleas to the four charges but his solicitor, Katie Fowkes, indicated that they would be denied.

The justices committed his case for trial at Derby Crown Court on 21st October and granted him bail.
