Man charged with murder of Selston woman

Police have charged a man with the murder of a 32-year-old woman who was killed in a crash in Selston.

Ashley Tinklin, 37, of Recreation Street, Selston, is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, July 28) after he was charged with the murder of Dawn Fletcher.

The charge comes as detectives continue their investigation into the death of the 32-year-old woman from Chesterfield, who was killed during a collision with a van in Alfreton Road at just after 6.20pm on Saturday evening.

Dawn was pronounced dead at the scene and officers arrested five people in connection with the incident on the night.

Eight other people who had been arrested as part of detectives’ enquires into the murder investigation have now been released on bail.

Tinklin has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at court today.
