Man charged with attempted murder after Kirkby stabbing

A 40-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed outside a pub in Kirkby.

The incident was reported to police just before 1am on Sunday, October 22.

A 27-year-old man was stabbed outside The Nags Head pub in Station Street and taken to Queen’s Medical Centre.

His condition is said to be “critical but stable” – according to Nottinghamshire Police.

Tyrone James, aged 40, of Skegby Road in Kirkby, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and assault by beating.

James appeared at Nottingham Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, October 24, and has been remanded into custody.

His next court date is November 21.
