A man has been charged with attempted burglary at a Mansfield newsagents.

Police were called to the newsagents, on Walkden Street, at around 1.30am this morning.

Daniel Ray, 27, of Oxton Close, Mansfield, has been charged with attempted burglary. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Mansfield Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Tuesday).

A 16-year-old boy was also arrested in connection with the incident and has been released under investigation.
