Man charged after axe incident in Warsop

A 28-year-old has been arrested and charged with possession of bladed article, assault by beating and a public order offence.

Officers were called to Vickers Street, Warsop following a report of an assault.

The incident happened around 12.30pm on Thursday (May 14).

Mansfield Neighbourhood Inspector Nick Butler said: "Officers made the quick arrest following the report,.

"It was reported that a man was in possession of an axe. A man was detained quickly by officers and an axe was recovered.

“We will have officers on patrol in the area talking to local residents and offering reassurance."

Johnathon Fullwood of Vickers Street, Warsop, has been released on bail.

He is due to appear at Mansfield Magistrates Court to face the charges on June 29.
