Man caught drink driving after police saw his car swerving in Mansfield

A Sutton man was caught drink driving after police saw his car swerving on a Mansfield street, a court was told.

Aleksander Marek Mazowita admitted drink driving when he appeared before Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 6.Prosecuting, Robert Carr said that police first became suspicious when they saw Mazowita on Leeming Street and pulled him over on St Peter’s Way when they noticed his car swerving.Mazowita, 20, of Cross Row, Sutton, blew 87 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 ml of breath when breathalysed, when the legal limit is 35.Mitigating, Ian Pridham said: “He had gone into town and was in a pub with a friend and thought he’d only had two Jack Danield and Coke, but he had clearly had more than that.”Mazowita was fined £323 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.He was also banned from driving for 20 months.
