A man who bit a chunk from another man’s lip has been sentenced to three years in a young offender institution.
Cody Elliott pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and was sentenced at Derby Crown Court last week.
The 29-year-old victim and a friend became involved in an argument with Elliott and a group of other men outside the Gate Inn, Shirebrook, when the victim was bitten.
He went to the Queen’s Medical Centre for surgery.
Elliott, 20, of The Woodlands, Langwith, was banned from the pub for two years.
