Man arrested following 'threats to kill'  firearms incident in Broxtowe

A 27-year-old man has been arrested after threatening to kill a man with a replica BB gun.

Officers were called at around 9pm on Sunday night to Whitwell Road in Broxtowe following a reports of a firearms incident.

The offender who was reported to have suffered a self-inflicted head injury was eventually arrested after a search in the area which took several hours.

There was no other reports of any injuries.

Police Sergeant Janine Barnes said: "Officers were called last night (Sunday) to the Broxtowe area following a report of a firearms incident. We were quickly on the scene and tracked down the offender to make the arrest.

"The arrested man is known to the victims and there is no wider danger to the local community.

"The BB gun has also been seized.

"The man has since been bailed pending further enquiries."
