Man arrested in connection with Kirkby robbery

A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery in Kirkby in which an 80-year-old woman's car was stolen.

The incident happened at around 7.35am on Saturday (January 27) as the woman left the Co-op on Chapel Street.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery. He remains in police custody.

The woman didn’t suffer any serious injuries but was left very shaken by her ordeal.
