Man arrested and £90,000 cannabis grow dismantled in Mansfield

A man has been arrested after a police swoop uncovered £90,000 of cannabis growing in Ollerton.

A search warrant took place at in Whitewater Road as part of a wider operation to combat drug supply in the area.

A total of 87 cannabis plants were recovered, believed to be worth £1,000 each.

A man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis.

Neighbourhood Inspector Heather Sutton said: "We are always working to combat illegal drug supply in the Newark and Sherwood area.

“We work with various teams such as intelligence and the dog section and operate a number of covert and overt operations. Drug dealers prey on the most vulnerable in our society and we have a zero tolerance approach to this form of activity."

It comes after £1 million pounds worth of cannabis was recovered in the Broxtowe area in the last fortnight and £750,000 worth was recovered in the Ashfield area in the last month.
