Man arrested after large cannabis grow discovered in Huthwaite

A man has been arrested after a police swoop on a cannabis grow in Huthwaite.

Nottinghamshire Police officers have carried out a warrant at a house in Huthwaite today (Wednesday April 6) .

A large cannabis grow containing more than 100 plants have been seized, as well as a large quantity of bagged drugs ready for distribution.

The grow was found on Springwell Road at around 1.30pm and a 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He remains in police custody

PC Daukintyte is leading the investigation. She said: "Nottinghamshire Police is committed to robustly investigating crime associated with cannabis in its bid to protect the public.

"Those who choose to grow cannabis must consider the impact and potential risks involved – not only to themselves and their own property, but also the wider neighbouring community.

Supply of cannabis is punishable by up to 14 years in prison, an unlimited fine or both.
