Man arrested after Kirkby street fight involving knife

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray after a street fight broke out between two men, in Ashfield yesterday (Thursday, July 16).

The fight broke out between two men, where one was said to have a knife, in the Derwent Drive area of Kirkby at around 7.38 pm.

No one suffered any injuries.

Inspector Mark Dickson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "A 33-year-old suspect remains in custody while we continue with our enquiries.

“This sort of violent behaviour will not be tolerated within our communities.

"Nottinghamshire Police is committed to keeping people safe and we will deal robustly with offenders involved in incidents of violence.

“I’d appeal to anyone with any information or footage of this incident to get in touch with us as soon as possible as we work to understand the circumstances of this incident.”
