Man arrested after crashing stolen car that flipped on its roof and hit two other vehicles in Mansfield

Police have arrested a man who drove a stolen vehicle that flipped onto its roof after colliding with two other cars on a Mansfield road.

Officers have arrested a driver who caused a three car crash on Lichfield Lane yesterday (Wednesday, July 15) on suspicion of dangerous driving and theft of a vehicle.

Nottinghamshire Police received reports that a stolen vehicle was driving dangerously in the A60 and began a chase to stop the car at around 1.20pm.

The car then collided with another vehicle in Lichfield Lane before flipping onto its roof.

Two people have suffered minor injuries and a man was taken to hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Inspector Paul Shortt said: “We acted quickly to locate a car which was presenting a real and existing danger to the public due to the manner of its driving.

“Thankfully no person suffered serious injuries as a consequence of the incident.”

The road has now reopened.
