Kirkby man burgled house and stole car before tracking and harrassing woman
A Kirkby man who burgled a house and stole car keys before using the car to follow and harrass a woman has been jailed, a court has heard.
Devann Anand burgled an address on Station Street on the night of September 12 while it was occupied, magistrates in Mansfield were told.
He stole house keys, a backpack and a USB stick containing personal information before driving off in a Toyota Yaris, without insurance or a licence.
He later trailed a woman, boxed her car in, and questioned her in a “threatening and harassing manner.”

The court heard Anand was granted bail by magistrates in Nottingham only two days before he committed the burglary.
Jim Buckley, mitigating, said Anand was lightly-convicted, and had no convictions at all until the middle of the summer.
Anand, aged 26, of Alexandra Street, Kirkby, admitted burglary and vehicle theft after initially denying them, and pleaded guilty to related charges of making threats to cause harassment, alarm or distress, and driving offences, when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court, on October 8.
A probation report was ordered and he was remanded into custody until Thursday.
“The most serious offence is the domestic burglary,” the presiding magistrate told him via a video-link to HMP Leicester.
"You must understand how it must have felt for those people whose home you went into.”
Anand’s sentence was reduced from 18 months to 12 months because of his guilty pleas.
He was ordered to pay £150 costs, a £154 surcharge, and £200 compensation to his victims. He was also disqualified for six months.
