Kirkby drink-driver FIVE times over limit crashed into car and said: ‘I have got no brakes’
A Kirkby drink-driver who was nearly FIVE times over the limit when he drove into the back of a stationary car told the driver, "I have got no brakes," a court has heard.
Florin Cintiuc stalled his silver Hyundai and held up traffic while travelling towards Mansfield on the A38 on August 22, said prosecutor Becky Allsop.
Shortly afterwards he drove into the back of a Range Rover parked at red lights on the junction with Sutton Road.
When the other driver got out and asked him what he was doing, Cintuic replied: "I have got no brakes."

A test revealed he had 166 microgrammes of alcohol when the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Cintuic told police he was returning home from work and claimed the other driver stopped suddenly.
He said he drank half a litre of whisky the night before, but denied drinking any of the alcoholic drinks found in his car and said he was hiding them from his wife.
Cintuic, of previous good character, agreed with the prosecution case and said: “I stopped straight away at the traffic lights. I couldn't brake.”
Cintiuc, aged 43, of Springfield Way, Kirkby, admitted drink-driving when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court, on September 10.
The presiding magistrate told him his alcohol reading was “beyond the scale of the sentencing guidelines,” which end at 150 microgrammes, and “puts you well and truly into the custody bracket.”
Sentencing was adjourned until Tuesday when he received a 12-week sentence, suspended for 12 months, with 150 hours of unpaid work.
He was banned for three years but a rehabilitation course could reduce the disqualification by 36 weeks.
