Prosecuting, Donna Fawcett said: “The manager of Adam’s House picked up the phone and the person on the line said he was going to upload images of their smackhead staff. He said I’m going to get the CQC down on you, along with your smackhead staff. I’ve got a criminal record as long as your d***.”

Mitigating, Ian Pridham said: “On October 14 he had tried to take his own life and was later found by his current partner. At some time between taking the tablets and collapsing on the floor, he made this ill-advised phone call which had no truth in it.”

District Judge Jonathan Taaffe gave Doughty a 28-day curfew and imposed a two-year restraining order. He also ordered Doughty to pay £85 costs and a £90 victim surcharge.
