Hucknall drug dealer dropped off drugs on way to funerals

A Hucknall woman took part in drug ‘drops’ while on the way to and from funerals, a police investigation revealed.

Dealer Jaidean Thorne is the latest member of a group running a drug line operating between Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire to be sentenced.

Inquiries by Nottinghamshire Police’s County Lines team revealed they were selling large amounts of Class A drugs in the Ripley area of Derbyshire from a base initially in Hucknall and later in Rainworth.

Officers executed coordinated warrants at homes linked to the conspiracy in Hucknall and Rainworth on May 29, 2024.

As well as seizing bags of Class A drugs which had been concealed at both addresses, officers also recovered mobile phones.

Thousands of messages were discovered on these devices detailing how drugs were being distributed, dropped off, bought and sold.

Thorne was found to be delivering drugs to users on regular occasions, including while travelling to and from funerals.

Thorne, 28, of St Mary’s Way, Hucknall, was jailed for two years, suspended for two years, at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, January 23.

She pleaded guilty to conspiring to supply heroin, cocaine and cannabis and possession of criminal property.

Co-conspirators Jake Carroll and Jason Ramsden were jailed on October 1, 2025 for six years and 12 weeks and three years and four months respectively for their roles.

Carroll, 31, of Belleville Drive, Nottingham, and Ramsden, 33, of Dukes Meadow, Rainworth, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and conspiracy to supply heroin.

Carroll also admitted possession of criminal property.

Cocaine seized from the Hucknall flat was found to have a street value of more than £4,000.

Drugs and cash were found in bedside cabinets inside the address. At the Rainworth property large bags of drugs were discovered hidden in a garden shed.

Officers found designer clothing and trainers as well as receipts for expensive jewellery at the Hucknall property, along with more than £26,000 in cash.

Detective Constable Ben Slater, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our investigation revealed Thorne delivered drugs to people on a daily basis.

“Even on the way to and from funerals she was quite happy to drop off heroin and cocaine to addicts, many of whom were likely to have been extremely vulnerable.

“She and the other people running this line were making substantial amounts of money and living lavish lifestyles funded through these sales.

“The harm drugs lines like this cause in communities is why it is a priority for the force to target and disrupt those believed to be involved and carry out many hours of police work to shut them down.”
