The case was then referred to Action Fraud who passed the investigation on to Nottinghamshire Police.

Police Constable Nathan Staley, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Fraud can have a massive impact on people's lives and businesses. As a force we are committed to catching those responsible as soon as possible.

"This was a brilliant example of a bank using a strong process to detect fraudulent activity and notifying the appropriate service as soon as possible."
