Flasher exposed himself to shoppers from car parked outside Sutton supermarkets

A flasher who exposed himself to shoppers outside supermarkets in Sutton on three separate occasions left his victims “incredibly distressed,” a court has heard.

Krzystof Konkle sat in his car with his trousers down and performed a sexual act while parked outside the Co-Op, on June 16 and September 29, and outside Tesco Express, on November 11, said Lucy Woodcock, prosecuting.

Mark Stocks, mitigating, said Konkle, who is of previous good character, deserved credit for pleading guilty at the earliest opportunity.

"He has never committed any sort of criminal offence before and it is particularly unfortunate he comes before the courts today with three offences such as these," he said.

"It is clear something went wrong in his life which caused him to behave in this way.

"He was going through a particularly traumatic period and he thought his long term relationship was coming to an end.

"The stress he was going through manifested itself as some sort of crisis,” Mr Stocks said. “He behaved illogically and inappropriately; he is thoroughly ashamed and embarrassed."

A probation officer said Konkle, who claimed he was sexually frustrated, minimised the impact he had on his victims.

Konkle, aged 46, of Woodfield Road, Pinxton, admitted three counts of exposure, via a Polish interpreter, when he appeared at Mansfield Magistrates Court,.

“We are a little concerned you are trying to play down what happened,” the presiding magistrate told him.

He received a 12-month community order with 120 hours of unpaid work and five rehabilitation days.

He was ordered to pay £200 compensation to each of his victims and must sign the sex offenders’ register for five years.
