Five due in court after police discover ‘large cannabis grow’ in Mansfield

Five men are due to appear in court on Monday after being charged in connection with a “large cannabis grow” found in Mansfield on Sunday.

Officers made the discovery on Stockwell Gate after responding to a report of suspicious activity at around 00.25am after two men were seen entering the back of a derelict building.

Five men fled onto the building’s roof when they arrived and were subsequently arrested.

Olti Gjura, 22, Fillim Mani, 26, Sabri Tota, 24, and Klinton Xhiko, 26, all of Stockwell Gate, along with Bekim Cani, 28, of Whitehall Road in Birmingham, were charged with the production of cannabis last night (24 May).

They are due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court today (25 May).

Detective Sergeant Andy Hall, who is leading the investigation, said: "Officers worked quickly and carefully to negotiate with the individuals on the roof top leading to five men being arrested safely.”
