A Facebook feud landed a young mum in court after she attacked another woman outside her own home.

Chantelle Willets (23) of Friar Lane, Warsop, appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court where she admitted assault and criminal damage.

The court was told how Willets had spotted a picture of another woman on Facebook she knew, kissing Willets’ boyfriend, and went round to confront her on 1st January at around 11.30pm.

Willets began kicking the woman’s Fiat Punto parked outside her home and calling her to come out.

When she did appear, Willets ran at her and punched her several times before the pair began grappling on the floor.

A member of the victim’s family then dragged Willets off as the victim ran into the house with blood pouring from her nose.

Willets was later arrested and admitted both offences.

Defending, Melanie Hoffman, said there had been ‘history’ between the victim and the defendant dating back months.

She told how Willets had been forced to move out of the area because of messages sent to her from friends of the complainant.

However, she had moved back to become a carer for her mother, as well as looking after her three-year-old daughter.

In mitigation, Miss Hoffman said: “She does take full responsibility.

“She has had a difficult time but she regrets what happened and has let herself down.”

She was handed a 12-month community order, ordered to pay £150 compensation to the victim, and £150 to repair the car. No order was given for costs because of her role as a carer.
