An Edwinstowe man has been spared prison after he was caught carrying a knife in Mansfield Woodhouse.

Samuel Phillips, aged 27, of Fourth Avenue, Edwinstowe, was caught with the blade on June 18 in Mansfield Woodhouse, court records show.

He appeared before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on June 19 where he admitted the offence.

He was jailed for a total of 26 weeks, suspended for 12 months by the court.

He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs and an £128 victim surcharge.
