An eagle-eyed police officer on his first day with Ashfield’s Operation Reacher team has been hailed after discovering a motorist with no tax and insurance in Skegby.

The driver was issued with a summons and his Vauxhall Corsa seized by officers from the area’s Operation Reacher team on patrol on the Healdswood estate in the village on Monday.

A statement on Ashfield Police’s Facebook page read: "Today, the Reacher team welcomed ‘Ash’ who has joined us for a short time from the Sutton Neighbourhood Team and it hasn't taken him long to fit in at Reacher HQ.

An eagle-eyed police officer on his first day with Ashfield’s Operation Reacher team has been hailed after discovering a motorist with no tax and insurance in Skegby.

"During a patrol of the Healdswood estate, Skegby, Ash spotted this vehicle.

“Not only did the driver have no tax, which expired in October 2020, Mr Driver didn't bother having insurance either. He was reported for summons and the car was seized.”
