A Mercedes driver was arrested and charged with several offences after ‘flying by’ police on the M1 near Sutton at 90mph.

On Wednesday, October 19, Derbyshire Police’s roads policung unit reported a Mercedes ‘flying by’ their unmarked vehicle on the M1 at Junction 28 near South Normanton.

A unit spokesman said: “He was not only doing a minimum of 90mph, but also watching TV on his mobile phone on the dashboard.

“Cue some blue lights and the overwhelming smell of cannabis coming from the car.
