Drug dealer sentenced after scales and dealer list found at Kirkby property

A 22-year-old drug dealer has been sentenced after a set of scales and a phone was found hidden under floorboards, and cannabis and mamba were seized.

Liam Westwood, of Millers Way, was found guilty of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply and sentenced to nine months, suspended for two years, at Nottingham Crown Court.

The charges relate to a warrant being executed by officers on Millers Way on 20 April 2018 where drugs, two phones and cash were seized.

Officers conducted a search of the house in Kirkby-in-Ashfield and found a set of scales and a phone hid under the floor, as well as deal bags, between £3-400 in cash and a dealer list.

Several cylindrical packages, believed to be compressed drugs, were also found inside the property along with other drugs paraphernalia, including a six tonne workshop hydraulic press.

Police Constable David Williamson led the investigation.

He said: “We received intelligence that the house smelt of cannabis and there were a lot of visitors to the address on a daily basis.

“This continued for several weeks and officers worked closely with the local beat manager.

“A warrant was carried out by the Neighbourhood Support Unit and an arrest was made.

“Drug crime can have a devastating impact on people’s lives and Nottinghamshire Police will continue to locate and prosecute those who seek to deal drugs, and ensure they are brought to justice.”
